Colour, texture, shape, rhythm, gesture of Amuse reflect the spirit of music. In music, one “plays” an instrument even though it is usually hard work. Why is it called “play”? From within this hard work the rare delight and amusement experienced when the musician, the instrument and the composer become whole is brief and intense. At this time the muse’s presence is felt and a moment of complete focus and clarity of thought lifts the music letting it splash, swing, gambol and frolic freely. Where the musician can amuse herself and others is where the music moves.
